Manager

Bob Hall

Bob joined the club in the 2002-03 season and steered the club to promotion from the 2nd Division at his first attempt. Bob says a further strengthing exercise must take place for the club to be promoted to the Premier division where it belongs. Bob owns his own minibus company and is a very friendly and talkative man. Having hung up his boots he decided to make an appearance in a recent friendly in goal, he must still have it because villa promptly came back from a 3-1 deficit to win 3-4.

Jason Kirk

A mountain of a goal keeper. Jason has played over 60 games for the club and is currently the players representative and a valued member of the committee. Jason's forte is his very long kicks, in fact a few away teams complain because of the lost balls in local woodland. Jason had a slump in form for a short spell until the rest of the side realised it was his "No alcohol" diet, this was put right immediately.

Lee Myers

Mr consistency, Lee was awarded the Player of the year award 2002-03. Lee brings a valuable experience to the squad. Playing mainly as a right back he has previously played for Sheffield Club the oldest football club in the world. Lee works with one of the clubs main support partners Rotherham Glass and Glazing. Lee can change a game by example and his committment to the club is exemplary. All though don't ask him to spell it.

Phil Kidder

The old man of the squad. Sorry Phil, 110% on and off the pitch. Many squad members think Phil should be shipped off to the over 35's league, but each year he keeps coming back as fit as the rest. Phil has been with the club for many years and is a holder of the "Centenary Shirt Award", for over 100 games service to the club. A committee member, Phil performs some vital fundraising through his business contacts and helps with pre match duties behind the scenes. Phil is definately the holder of quote of the season " Hunt in Packs"

Matt Jubb

"Jubby", as the lads call him. Or "Rug Man" to his friends, because of his very hairy chest. Jubby has struggled over the last couple of seasons with knee trouble but rest assured once fit he can play above this level. He holds down a centre halfs spot with ease when he's on a roll. He keeps reminding us about how he is over worked and under paid, but still manages to go out romancing most of the week.

Rob Heritage

One of the youngest players in the squad and the secretary's son. Rob has found it difficult to break into the team on a permament basis but is staring to make in-roads now. He will become a long established player in years to come. A life saver by trade, Rob is surrounded with sports. You can always tell when his Dad is annoyed with him because he calls him Robert.

Lee Olesiuk

"Left foot Lee", Lee mainly plays left back, but left back, left wing, left in the changing room, only kidding, if it has a left in it, Lee can play it. Lee has also played over 60 games for the club and has hidden pace. Lee is a keen dart player and we can never quite work out whether he is first in the pub for darts and drinks or just to polish the after match food off.

Paul Birchall

Paul "The Tank" Birchall. Our squad have not given Paul this nickname, its the opposition players whom he tackles. Sometimes its better to look away when hes making a challenge. A new father and husband, Paul works for one of our main support partners Red Mortgages. Paul can play anywhere down the middle he's a holder of the coveted "Centenary Shirt" for playing over 100 games, Paul could have probably doubled this by now but he has a habbit of falling out with referees.

Nathan Griffin

Sheffield's finest footballer, ooops sorry wrong guy. Nathan has been with the club for many years both as a player and a manager. He also holds the "Centenary Shirt" and finds his age catching up with him now. The over 35's is definately calling especially now the "chocolate legs" comments are flying around. A committee member Nathan helps out with fundraising and back room tasks. Nathan also brings the "villa idiot" ooops I mean "team mascot" Lucas (6 years old) to each game who gives Bob his opinions for the half time team talk.

Paul Harpham

"Rubber" as he is known is one of our loudest and scariest players. Also a new father he can show some adventure for a natural centre half. We now believe he is the most "under the thumb" player in the entire county. Emily see's to this and who can blame her. Good luck from the lads for the forth coming wedding Paul. See you on the Stag do. Don't tell the boss it's close to the pre season friendlies.

Ian King

"Kingy", as the lads call him, brings a little touch of class to the side. A player who performs well and could play at a higher level. Known for his hair do's Ian is a new father and will be teaching his kid to play left wing has he does. Ian hails from the Rotherham area, that leafy suburb of Sheffield. He has played for the club for two seasons to date and will be a vital part of any promotion campaign. Getting him to talk off the pitch is hard enough so you can imagine what it's like on it.

Richard Ellson

Richard is undoubtedly one of the stars of the squad, still a youngster and having just completed his first season, he is capable of some great things on a football pitch when he believes in himself. Richard has just found beer and women although he can't afford the two in the same week. His car has gradually deteriorated over the course of the season and we may have to make arrangements to get him to the grounds next year.

Mark Butcher

"Butch" as he is known on the pitch, plays the anchor man role in midfield. Although Mark has suffered with knee trouble for the last 6 months the operation is over now and he says he's coming back stronger. Having just had his second child Mark has a laugh and a joke for all situations. Especially his mate VAJ.

Dan Hiner

"Hiner" as he's known, well we couldn't publish what he's really known as. Top goalscorer in 2002-03 season with 15 goals, not bad for a midfielder by trade. Unfortunately found injury a major problem in the 2003 -04 season and we think he holds the Villa record for the shortest performance of 6 minutes. Dan is way off the handle sometimes but something tells you he's a dark horse at everything really. A great footballer with the cheekiest of FreeKicks.

Scott Chamberlain

One of the newest recruits to the squad. Scott is without doubt the quietist foolballer on the planet. He works really hard up front and has started to make his mark on the team. Getting better and better with every game Scott is destined to become a main hit man for the club for many years to come. We just wish he'd shut up a bit.

Craig Benson

"Benny" is also a new father, in fact we are beginning to worry about all these new arrivals. We have got to work on the youth policy in some way though. Craig adds a good football brain to the team, he is capable of scoring if he is given the service and makes up for his lack of height through good inter passing moves. Another one of the many Golf bandits we have associated with the club.

Greg Henshaw

Greg is a long standing member of the squad and another holder of the "Centenary Shirt". A left back who has himself played at a higher level during his career. Greg's transition of playing and managing is starting to take effect, as he is now the manager of the local sunday side "The Pack Horse". Greg works in the leisure trade and is surrounded by sport. Having lost his father Stuart a short while ago, Greg maintains an annual charity football match held at the Villa ground each year. Nice one Greg!

Matt Griffin

Griff. The prodigal son returns. After his journey around the globe playing for the finest teams in the land. He couldn't hack it...ooops sorry, he decided to grace the Villa with his superior if often frustrating talents. Matt a "Spine of the team" player will provide some qualities sorely missing from last seasons matches. Don't worry Matt the committee have voted to provide a second ball for you during the games to play with on your own, so long as the referee agrees.

Jamie Cooke

Cookie. The wild child "rock band" playing right back, shows a remarkable level head and consistency on the pitch for someone who thrashes instruments all week. Brought in secretly by Andy Unwin to try to stop Lee Myers (right back)joining him on three Player of the Year awards. Jamie is another who doesn't hold back were challenges are concerned, just watch out for the baby bug Jamie which exists at the Villa. Oh yes and when you are famous remember the lads.

Chris Leadwood

Leddy. What a man, what a player, and what a plonker... need I say more.

Chris Hogan

"Hoggy" Villa's newest recruit, Chris is aiming to hold down a regular centre halfs spot when he gets the chance. A towering lad who is comanding in the air and is probable captain material of the future. Chris confirms the strength High Green Villa is building for the future with new signings.

Club Secretary

Bill Heritage

"Big Bill", makes sure the club runs to budget. His responsibilty and accountabilty are second to none, Bill helps along with all committee meetings and runs the club very smoothly. Liasing with all contacts he gives the club a great foundation on which to build our promotion charge. He likes to keep a keen eye on the development of his lad Rob and we think he even pays his fines. What a good Dad.

We would love to hear your comments and player stories. Please add them to our guest book. Thanks.
