Click HERE for the History of High Green
Our football is played on the Thorncliffe Playing fields ground on Pack Horse lane. The ground has been host to top clubs in the past including both Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United. Recent years have seen the pitch deteriorate, but part of the committee’s plans is to bring the whole ground back up to professional standard.
We are proud to say that some former players of High Green Villa FC have gone on to professional football, some of which are still playing for Football League Clubs. This goes to show that any emerging youngsters can be successfully directed and guided along a previously trodden path, to achieve their ambitions with High Green Villa FC.
Thorncliffe is currently used by thousands of local people each month and this figure is set to rise as government and council funding is awarded.
Here are some of the stories submitted over the years along with images and news clippings from yester year.
